Time To Revisit Your Actor Website!
The #ARGOnlineChallenge continues! Last week we revisited how to optimize our IMDb profiles – this week we’re continuing our prep for episodic season by diving back into our actor websites!
Having (and making) your very own website can be… a little nerve-wracking, but it can be such an effective actor tool. You can use it to highlight relevant content to industry-makers, and have your most up-to-date information ready to go.
When we first spoke about this topic we answered a LOT of questions, so don’t worry – whether you’re experienced on the web or not, in this week’s #GuruTips, I’ve got you covered.
In the video I mention a few easy do-it-yourself web design sites, all with their pros and cons. All of these have a free trial, so you can try them all until you find the right fit for you!
1. SquareSpace – It’s very easy to use and super mobile friendly, with good customer support, but there are limited design customizations.
2. Wix – You can literally drag-and-drop everything exactly how you’d like it, but it can be clunky and slow to load sometimes.
3. WordPress – This site is a little harder to get the hang of, but has a fantastic blog capability. It also has lots of of extensions and plugins.
Do you have an actor website? Do you even NEED an actor website!? Does it cost money? Is it safe? What should be online? We answer all of these questions and more in the #ARGOnlineChallenge from @ActResourceGuru @Ajarae! #ActorWebsites #ActorsLife #Share
Now it’s your turn! Time to post your actor website in the comments below! I’ll start it off – check the comments below and be sure to add yours!
We’ve be continuing the #ARGOnlineChallenge all month, and it’s all going down in our free Facebook community, Actors Who Get It! If you haven’t joined yet, what are you waiting for! We’re a community of like-minded, proactive actors and we’d love to have you! You’ll even get a free gift when you join…
Let’s see those websites!

I paid for my books in college by building websites. I absolutely LOVE WordPress. I use it as often as possible.
I built my actor site using WP: http://ericlwilliams.net

My actor website is tonyadamsactor.com
I built it on Wix – which is easy enough to use, but can be a bit painful at times.
I’m a huge fan of having a website – it’s a really useful way to “own” that real estate that Ajarea spoke about, and put YOUR content and messaging out. Hard work? Yeah..kinda. Worth it? Heck yeah!
