    Hi Ajarae:
Thanks for the information. I was totally guilty of #1 starting out in my acting career years ago. I’m pretty consistent in my actions however, I admit I needed to be more specific in my goal. My problem is in marketing. I’ve listened to several online classes, workshops and lectures on marketing my career to complete exhaustion. Marketing is just not my area of anointing. Any advice? Perhaps, do I now need to hire a manager? I’ve had my agent since 2016 now and although I’ve booked a few things, I’m not totally satisfied that my career is where it should be by now. Yes, my age may be a factor (60+ and the fact that I’m an African Am. woman with grey hair) however, I can’t somehow dismiss the feeling that I should be booking more. BTW, I’ve taken so many acting classes I could probably teach one. LOL Thanks

Hey Ajarae. My problem is number 3, consistent marketing. I have met dynamic industry people and failed to consistently market and communicate with them. Most often this is because life’s “emergencies” interfere and distract my attention to the emergency and I forget to get back on track. I make notes on my calendars and fail to habitually refer to them daily. Sometimes when I do stumble across a note (a past note) the opportunity has passed. I need to consistently make notes in my Yahoo calendar, set reminders/notices, and start my day by checking my calendar(s). So, I’m going to my Yahoo calendar now and see what’s coming up.

    Thanks for the reminder.

Oh! I forgot to mention the mistake I see others making: actors new to the business thinking Hollywood has just been waiting for their arrival and they just need to let show up.
