Time To Revisit Your IMDb Profile!
The #ARGOnlineChallenge has begun! Important question: How prepared are you for episodic season?
Everyone talks about how important is is to prep for pilot season, but this season is just as crucial. We can’t let our materials go forgotten just because it’s summer. So this month we’re revisiting some key online marketing materials that are crucial for you to maintain, especially during episodic season.
This week: IMDb – more specifically IMDbPro! This is one of the BEST resources an actor can use, and in the video I explain five easy steps to optimize your IMDb page!
Before you begin, you have to complete step one: you have to be subscribed to IMDbPro! It ends up being about $150 for the year if you pay in full, but SAG-AFTRA members can check their local discounts for a code and get a HUGE discount! (Seriously though, it’s TOTALLY worth it!)
Do you have a killer @IMDb profile?! You should. Learn the five tips to optimize your online actor profile in the #ARGOnlineChallenge from @ActResourceGuru @Ajarae! #IMDb #IMDbPro #ActorsLife #Share
Now it’s your turn! Time to post your IMDb page in the comments below! I’ll start it off – check the comments below and be sure to add yours!
We’ve be continuing the #ARGOnlineChallenge all month, and it’s all going down in our free Facebook community, Actors Who Get It! If you haven’t joined yet, what are you waiting for! How do you feel about putting a demo reel on your IMDb page? I know a lot of actors do, but I have always been worried about their assertion that they own any video that is put on IMDb. Section 8 of the IMDb Pro subscriber agreement states that in regards to all contents submissions, “you grant IMDb and its affiliates a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, access, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such Content Submissions throughout the world in any media.” So if I were to put up clips of me on Grey’s Anatomy, IMDbPro can use that clip from NBC/universal in advertising without compensation to NBC Universal. When NBCU/universal sends them a cease-and-desist, IMDbPro will say, “Oh Jeff Holman gave us permission to use that. Take it up with him.“. Then I will get sued by NBCU/universal.
