Time To Revisit Your Social Media Presence

The #ARGOnlineChallenge continues! Now that we’ve already reviewed our actor websites and our IMDb profiles, it’s time to move on to an online topic that tends to be a bit… scarier for some actors: our social media presence!

Social media done the right way can be a challenge. So I sat down with Acting Resource Guru’s Social Media & Marketing Director, Evin Michaels!

Evin is the founder and Head Social Strategist of Social With An i Consulting (and one of my besties). He wants to make sure that after today, you understand the basics of what platforms you should be on, what you should be posting, how often, and the right ways to do it!

There are a lot of ways that actors can maximize their social media reach, but you can’t do that without first being on social media!

But how do you choose your platform? When I first asked Evin what’s out there, he mentioned: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, Periscope, LinkedIn, Google+, Snapchat, Tumblr, Ello, Pinterest, YouTube— I had to cut him off there. It’s a lot, and that can be kind of intimidating. But as Evin mentions, it doesn’t have to be!

This is a whole new world of marketing that you literally have at your fingertips. But there is a right (and a wrong) way to do it!
