    1) [The informative answer] Acting is like any other occupation. Although I have some natural talent for it, yes, I’ve had to acquire skills and invest time refining those. But it’s only “hard” for those who don’t consistently WORK at it.

    2) [The rebuttal answer] Acting is no harder than any other worthwhile endeavor.

    3) [The wise guy answers] Hmm…everything must seem hard to you.
    It is, you should avoid it.

    I love this reminder. When I moved to NYC (from OK!!) I had people (literally) ask me if I was out of my mind. My response was, “No, actually I think I just found it”!” When we know our “calling” there is no fear, regret, or rolling of the eyes! I have found it critical to surround myself with cheerleaders in the industry like you. Yes, it takes courage but how many people hate their dead-end jobs? (They are usually the ones who roll their eyes at my choice.) I”m thrilled to get paid for something I love to do!
