How To Handle Sketchy Fans
Today we’re answering a question from one of our viewers!
Picture this: Your career is really taking off. You’re getting into better audition rooms, sign with your dream rep, maybe you even become offer-only.
Sounds great, right? Naturally people will start to notice you a little more, and this is where today’s #GuruTips topic comes in.
Elizabeth wrote in to ask us how to handle some people from her past who were… less than supportive before her successes and are just now trying to jump on the bandwagon. We want to cultivate and grow our fan bases, but what is there to do when someone posts something on Facebook that just isn’t true!?
Join me in this week’s Guru Tips For Actors! (I even get a little personal toward the end, so you know this is a good one.)
Isn’t it funny how many past “best friends” emerge now that your career is taking off? 🙃 #nope
Thanks for watching! Because this is such a huge topic we’re splitting it into two videos! Two weeks from today we’ll be following up with Part Two where we talk about handling your potential stalkers. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
And did I mention today is my BIRTHDAY?!? I would love for you to celebrate with me as we expand into Acting Resource Guru with our Red Carpet Launch on June 6th! This party is looking so great on our end and we are beyond excited. I’ll give you a hint: gift bags. Another hint: free vodka. Click here to RSVP! (Have I mentioned it’s free?!?)
Don’t worry if you’re not in LA, you can still RSVP for the virtual party AND still get a bunch of digital gifts and swag. You literally have nothing to lose (and a whole lot of free stuff to gain!)
Do you have a juicy question you want me to cover in a future episode of GuruTips for Actors? I’ll be answering YOUR questions every few weeks, so be sure to send them in to questions@workshopguru.com!

Ajarae,
That was a beautifully well thought out and expressed response to that young lady’s query.

Lots of good information in this week;s post. I’m an extremely vindictive person and only recently began to look for some good in the actions of my “assailants”. You sharing your story about your Harvard graduation really encourages me to be less reactive and consider the abilities or circumstances of the detractor.
