Why Actors Need To Go On Vacation

Time for the words you may not have even realized you’ve been waiting for…

OK… ready?

You need to take a vacation.

Besides the fact that, you know, we all just survived a global pandemic, I believe the obsession with always being “available” is leaving actors drained and uninspired.

And guess what happens when you’re drained and uninspired?

You don’t book.

It’s time to push back on our overworking tendencies and trust that if an opportunity is for you, a vacation isn’t going to change that. Like at all.

I’ll say it again.

If it’s for you, you’ll receive it no matter what.

Don’t get me wrong, booking out still makes me a little nervous! But as I pack to depart on a two week trip tomorrow, I know that the initial nervousness to send that book out email was so worth it.

So give yourself permission to BREATHE!
