Is It Me or Is It Trauma? Strategies For Coping
We are all experiencing a collective trauma right now.
An unfathomable number of deaths around the world…
Uncertainly about where our next paycheck is going to come from, and what the entertainment industry will even look like as we return to work…
Juggling insane demands of work, childcare, health concerns… the list goes on and on.
Trauma changes the way our nervous systems work. So the tools you have used to regulate yourself in the past may not be working now.
And that can be overwhelming and downright frightening.
I brought in trauma coach and reiki master, Joanne Tucker, MA Ed, to give us some clarity on what exactly we are dealing with here. She provided an eye-opening lay of the land from a trauma lens, and shared invaluable tools that we can use now to survive and thrive during this time.
Watch our talk below.
I love the concept of making our comfort zones bigger instead of trying to go outside them all the time. This is the perfect time to be kind and gentle with ourselves… to “nurture doable aliveness,” as Jo says.
