What To Do When You Have A Bad Workshop
Ok, I admit, I love workshops! That’s why I started WorkshopGuru.com. They’re a great opportunity to meet and form new relationships with industry decision-makers that you wouldn’t have had access to before.
They’re great… when you’re great. But what happens when you have a bad workshop?
Maybe you were under-prepared, maybe the guest or the studio just wasn’t that actor-friendly. Once I even had a casting director who got sick during a workshop. Not “was” sick; He got sick during a workshop and could barely keep his eyes open. Needless to say, it wasn’t the best experience.
But don’t worry, it’s not the end of the world. Watch this week’s #GuruTips and learn exactly what you should do in those not-so-great situations.
Like I said, TODAY I’m answering your questions. We’ve all had bad workshop experiences, but they all can be so individual, and I want to make sure you continue your day confident and with a plan on how to make this experience a learning opportunity. Post your questions in the comments below and I am personally going to go through and answer each one of them.
You all are so amazing,

Hi Ajarae,
Thanks for your awesome guidance!
What about when you are prepared and give a strong performance, but the CD just isn’t crazy about you for some reason? I usually chalk that up to the fact that some people will like you and some won’t in this business, and to focus on those who do. Thoughts?

Thanks for watching, Becki! I would agree that we should focus on building relationships with people with get along and vibe with. But I’m curious… what made you think the CD wasn’t crazy about you? I think sometimes we take things personally that may not mean much at all…
